Obituary
Mrs. Evia Risner Harper, 98, of 40 Bratcher Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 16, 1915 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Risner and Eunice Robertson Risner.Mrs. Harper was a retired seamstress from The Hartwell Company and a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Billy Harper of Hartwell; a brother, Tom Risner of Greenville, SC; a sister, Estelle Harber of Atlanta; one grandchild, Lynn Hernandez of Elberton; and two great-grandchildren: Maria Hernandez and Tori Hernandez.Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Harper; and a son, Jospeh Harper.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating.
The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm just prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd. Suite 10, Atlanta, GA30345-3315.
