Duchie Faye Hobbs Broome, age 74, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at her home.

She was born, October 2, 1948, in Stephens County, the daughter of the late Luther Hobbs and Vera Cobb Hobbs. She worked for many years for Franklin County Schools and will be fondly remembered by the children of Lavonia Elementary School as the lunchroom lady. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons: Chevish "Pete" Broome (Amanda) and James Kevin Broome; grandchildren: Samantha (Farley) Gibson, Selina (Farley) Sanders, Adam Broome and Peyton & Georgia Broome; and sister: Becky Hobbs Beck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Dean Broome; and daughter: Tracy (Broome) Farley.

Mrs. Broome's request was to be cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.
