Mrs. Virginia "Faye" Sanders Greene, 71, of 478 Helican Springs Rd., Athens, GA, died Saturday, August 23 at St. Mary's Hospital.

She was born October 3, 1936 in Hart County, GA.She was the daughter of the late William Homer Sanders Sr. and Effie Mae Cleveland Sanders. She was retired from operating Faye's Beauty Salon and attended the Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Paul Greene of the home; son: Tommy Stowe and his wife Sheila of Royston, GA; daughter: Elaine Philpot of Athens, GA; and sister: Cleve Bowers of Hartwell, GA.; seven grandchildren: Melinda Rowland, Jamey Stowe, Brandy Harris, Jeffrey Drake, Casey Stowe, Andrew Stowe & Heather Philpot; five great-grandchildren: Samantha Rowland, Courtney Rowland, Hannah Harris, Morgan Philpot & Hal Harris and one great-great grandchild: Jada Rowland.She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Homer Sanders, Hugh Sanders, John Sanders and Herbert Sanders; sister: Mildred Dove and great-grandchild: Trey Rowland.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel.Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Darvin Cash and Rev. Randall Starrett will officiate.Burial will be in the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Monday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Tommy and Sheila Stowe, 364 Shirley Rd. Royston.
