Mrs. Faye Sanders McCurley, 89, of McCurley Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson SC.

Born on July 5, 1925 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Cleo D. Sanders and Lessie Crump Sanders.Mrs. McCurley retired from the Hart County Tax Commissioners Office, where she served as deputy tax commissioner for 24 years and tax commissioner for 2 years.She was also a member of the Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her five sons: John O. McCurley Jr. and Jackie of Hartwell, Keith McCurley and Nancy of Hartwell, Jeffery McCurley of Dalton GA, William Mark McCurley and April of Rincon GA and David K. McCurley and Shanna of Comer GA; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. McCurley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John O. McCurley Sr.; one grandson: Nick McCurley; a brother: Willie Sanders and two sisters: Jewell S. McCurley and Sarah S. Dunn.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ann Mann officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 Wednesday prior to the service.
