Mrs. Faye Sadler Stamey, 90, of Thomson, GA, formerly of Savannah, GA, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Thomson Health & Rehab.
Born on August 15, 1929 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Gleason Sadler and Clyde Dell Chastain Sadler.Mrs. Stamey was a retired credit analyst for Sears Roebuck in Savannah, GA, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Savannah, GA.
Survivors include a son: Riley Stamey (Donna) of Thomson, GA; her brother: Gerald Sadler (Evelyn) of Alpharetta, GA; three grandchildren: Leyla Goodsell (Joey) of Florence, MS, Julie Langham (Van) of Thomson, GA, and Gina Sword (Mike) of Covington, GA; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stamey is preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother: Mary Senkbeil Sadler; husband: Rev. J. Mervin Stamey; one son: Gerry T. Stamey; her twin sister: Fairy Sadler Moore; and her other sister: Josephine Simpson Adams.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks.
Graveside services for Mrs. Faye Stamey will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Eric Boyd officiating.Everyone will be asked to practice Social Distancing and may want to bring a lawn chair.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
