Mrs. Virginia Faye Dyar Whiten, 81 of 250 Second Street, Hartwell, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at her daughter's home.

Born on November 16, 1931 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Dyar and Amanda Byrum Dyar.She was a homemaker and a member of the Price Chapel Church of God.

Survivors include her two daughters, Jackie Dodson and her husband Charlie of Bowersville and Gwen Fleeman and her companion Jeff Algood of Hartwell; two sons, Doug Jones and his wife June of Royston and Darrell Jones and his wife Teresa of Hartwell; five grandchildren, Lindsay Jones, Lauren Fleeman, Bryan Peeples, Stephanie Stone and Chad Jones and four great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Whiten was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Whiten; a daughter, Debbie McGill; four brothers, Claude Dyar, Mack Dyar, Britt Dyar and Duard Dyar and a sister, Myrtice Bailey.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Chad Jones officiating.Burial will be in the Price Chapel Church of God Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.The family is at the home of Jackie and Charlie Dodson, 2454 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville.
