Mrs. Flora Thornton Wilhite, 96, 1125 Moore Road, Hartwell, GA, died Monday, May 28, 2007 at Hart County Hospital, Hartwell, GA.

Born July 28, 1910 in Hart County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Thornton and Lizzie Carroll Thornton.She was a homemaker. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and a Sunday School Teacher.

Her survivors include:Son, William Wilhite of Hartwell, GA; Daughters, Betty Shirley of Fayetteville, NC, Mary Ann Thrasher of Bowersville, GA, and Helen O'Barr of Hartwell, GA; Sisters, Mary McCurley of Hartwell, GA and Lucy Gillman of Newman, GA; Nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by Parents; Husband, Herschel Wilhite; Brothers, Edgar Thornton and Charles Thornton; Sisters, Maude Lee Jennings, Gladys Campbell and Sara Mussellwhite.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.Rev. Mike Bearden, Rev. James Sexton and Rev. Bill Davidson officiating.Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home of William Wilhite, 1775 Smith McGee Hwy., Hartwell, GA and Helen O'Barr, 1104 Moore Road, Hartwell, GA.
