Mrs. Florence Mildred (Alewine) Hudson, age 83, of 120 Brickyard Road – Lavonia, died peacefully Tuesday, April 29 at her home.
Born April 9, 1925, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late O. T. and Lettie (Madden) Alewine. Mrs. Hudson was the last surviving member of the immediate family. She retired from Lavonia Mfg. Company. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: George Brose Hudson; former husband: Hugh Dorsey Fulbright; brothers: Harold, Johnny, and Fred Alewine; and sisters: Mary Powers, Myrtie Phillips, and Vassie Rowland.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Richard & Anne Fulbright of Toccoa and Tommy & Brenda Fulbright of Lavonia; daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra & Bob Thornburg of Mebane, NC, Diane & Don Holbrook of Clarkesville, and Connie & Robert "Bink" Morgan of Carnesville; Eleven Grandchildren and Sixteen Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Smith and Andy Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
