Mr. Floyd "Junior" Kay, 80, of Frank Crook Road, Canon, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Hart Care Center.
Born on February 13, 1937 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Floyd Kay Sr. and Naomi Welborn Kay.Mr. Kay was a poultry farmer, member of the Bethany Baptist Church, former deacon and a member of the senior adult SS class.
Survivors include his wife: Peggy Weaver Kay; two sons: Steve Kay & his wife Angela of Jonesboro and Scott Kay of Decatur; a daughter: Lesha Jones & her husband Tim of Canon; a brother: James Kay of Royston; three sisters: Imogene Campbell of Royston, Nellie Hembree and Shirley Martin both of Hartwell; eight grandchildren: Evan Kay, Ryan Kay, Megan Kay, Rebecca Barrow & her husband Justin, Zach Jones, Ashton Jones, Ethan Jones and Eli Jones also survive.Mr. Kay was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Rev. Luther Kay and Edgar Kay and three sisters: Frances Fleming, Leila Vaughn and Nancy Paxton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.The family is at the home of Lesha & Tim Jones, 1152 Frank Crook Road, Canon.
