Mrs. Mary Frances Jordan Davis Alewine, 79, of 50 S. Fowler St., Canon, died Sunday, February 17 at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston.
Born on March 2, 1928 in Hart County Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Idell Jordan and Willie Chitwood Jordan.She was a retired seamstress and of the Baptist faith.
Her survivors include:Grandchildren, Deborah Jennings, Pamela Road and Jennifer Fowler; Eight great grandchildren; a Sister, Martha Sue Eaverson of Clarkston, GA.She is preceded in death by Parents; 1st husband, Joe Davis and 2nd husband, Charles Alewine; Daughters, Charlotte Ross and Elizabeth Sanders; Sisters, Iva Mae Scott, and Pauline Alewine; Brothers, Edward Jordan, James Jordan and Billy Ray Jordan.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. J.B. Kitts will officiate.Burial will be in the Canon City Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Monday from 7 – 9:00 p.m.The family is at their respective homes.
