Mrs. Sarah Frances (Allen) Chaste en, age 81, of Hartwell, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.
Born May 23, 1931, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late George & Lorena (Chitwood) Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of Bowersville Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Grady Chasteen; brothers: Charles Allen, Leonard Allen, & Henry Jo Allen; and sisters: Jessie Mae Mays & Dorothy Burden.
She is survived by her sisters: Barbara Allen of Hampton, Peggy White of Hartwell, Patsy Turnbull of Canon, Diane Brown of Dewy Rose, & Alice Thorton of Canon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with her nephews, Rev. Gettis Allen, Rev. Rodney Allen, & Rev. Bobby Jo Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery, Greenville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
