Mrs. Frances "Shorty" Manley Vaughn, age 88, of Lavonia, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
Born January 28, 1926, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nora (Crawford) Manley. She retired from Monroe. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Lavonia Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Vaughn; brothers: Bud Manley and Estee Manley; and sisters: Josie Crider, Bertie Smith, and Dorothy Gentry.
She is survived by her daughter: Pam Vaughn; daughter and son-in-law: Angie and Marcus Greer; sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth and Odette Vaughn and Larry and Tenna Vaughn; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Adam Tripp, Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson, James Greever and Rev. Courtney Umbehant officiating. A private burial will follow in Lavonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
