Mrs. Frances Westmoreland Williams Phillips, age 88 of Toccoa Nursing Center, formerly of Lavonia, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Toccoa Nursing Center, Toccoa.
Born on April 5, 1918 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the Jessie Robert Westmoreland & Delphia Kelly Westmoreland.Mrs. Phillips was retired from Lavonia Elementary, where she worked as a lunchroom worker for forty years.She was a former member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and kept the Nursery for many years.She is a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church of Toccoa.
Survivors include her husband: Ralph Phillips of Cleveland; a daughter: Janette Garrett and her husband Walter of Toccoa; a son: Robert Williams and his wife Hope of Bowersville; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; a niece raised in the home: Christine Gibson and a nephew raised in the home: David "Wink" Williams; a step-son: Wayne Phillips and his wife Pam of Toccoa also survive.She was preceded in death by her first husband: Noah Williams; a daughter: Martha Atkinson; a grandson: Scott Heaton; a sister: Ruby Jordan and three brothers: Charlie Westmorland, Glenn Westmoreland and Roy Westmoreland.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 5 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Bruce Moore, Rev. Bill Evans and Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens ~ North.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Lavonia Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home of the son: Robert and Hope Williams, 6041 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville GA
