Mrs. Frances Louise McMullan Powell, 92, of Liberty Hill Church Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St Mary's Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA.

Born on June 5, 1922 in Hartwell, she was the daughter of the late James H. McMullan and Mary Lucy Hembree McMullan.Mrs. Powell was a retired seamstress from Bellcraft Mfg.She also was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church since 1942 and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one son: Rick M. Powell and his wife Virginia of Pendleton, SC; three grandchildren: Scott Powell, Wesley Powell and Pam York; and seven great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband: Lindsey G. Powell; a son: Bobby Powell; two brothers: Bruce McMullan and George McMullan.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
