Mrs. Frances Walters Sokol, 94, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at Hart Care Center.

Born on December 14, 1930 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Walters and Eula Ayers Walters.  Mrs. Sokol was a bookkeeper for 40 years at the Hartwell Garment Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.

Survivors include a son: Joseph Keith Sokol (Cindy) of Hartwell; a sister: Margaret Williamson of Athens; four grandchildren: Joseph Keith Sokol Jr., Renee Starling (Jack), Riley Sokol and Skylar Sokol; four great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Sokol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles Joseph Sokol Jr.; a son: Charles Jeffery Sokol; a grandson: Avery Sokol and a brother: Hoyt Walters.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Graveside services for Mrs. Frances Sokol will be Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating.
