Frank J. Farley, 71, of Bowersville, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 9, 1946, in Abney, WV, he was the son of Edna Dennis. He was raised by his grandparents: Avery and Edrie Maxey Farley. Prior to retirement, he was an electrical engineer with Oxi Chemical Company in Texas. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he served two tours in the Vietnam War. Mr. Farley was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife: Carlene Martin Farley; sons: David Farley (Carol) and Shane Farley (Megan); daughters: Kerri Brunet (Paul) and Lisa Moore; step-son: Lewis Martin; brothers: Jack Farley and Bill Farley; sisters Leta McComas, Connie Dyson, and Ann Whitwell; grandchildren: Devin, Jacob, Sidney, Gus, Joe, and Kaleb; several step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren: Drake, Maddox, Neveah, Isaac, and Cadence. In addition to his grandparents and mother, he was preceded in death by brothers: Oral Farley, Ted Farley, Kent Farley, and Darrell Farley; and sisters: lotus Lewis, Delpha Martin, and Earlene Hunt.
The funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. David Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 until the service.
