Mr. Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Mellinger, Jr., age 75, of 44 River Valley Drive, Hartwell, GA, died February 1, 2010 at Hart County Hospital.
Born March 8, 1934 in West Grove, PA, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Mellinger, Sr. and Erma M. Probst Mellinger.He was retired from NVF Company after 38 years of service.He was a member of Unionville Presbyterian Church, Marlborough Hunting & Fishing Club, former Fire Chief of Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company, Unionville, PA and a US Army veteran.
He is survived by:Wife, Joan Wheatman Mellinger of Hartwell; Son, Frank Mellinger and his wife, Fran of Unionville, PA; Daughters and sons in law, Sandra & Jeff Groves of Unionville PA, Leigh & Cody Letsinger ofGreenfield, NJ, Wendy & William Miley of Ventnor, NJ, Lisa & Tom Dunbar of Unionville, PA and Meg Mellingerof Unionville, PA; Brothers, Dennis Mellinger and his wife Jane of Kennett Square, PA and Craig Mellinger of Florida; Sister, Patricia Gallagher and her husband Don of Delaware; Sister in law Mary Mellinger; Five grandchildren, Matthew & Kimberly Groves, Cody & Dakota Letsinger and Gloria Mellinger. He is preceded in death by his Parents and a Brother, John Mellinger.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Hartwell First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Nelms officiating.
A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company Banquet Hall with Rev. John Ferguson officiating.Burial of the cremains will follow in the Unionville Cemetery.
