Obituary
Mr. Marion Frank Sanders, 85, of Kelly Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on June 30, 1933 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie Payton Sanders and Myra S. Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a loom technician for Newton Mills for 45 years, a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Kelly Sanders; one son: Stanley D. Sanders and Leigh of Hartwell; one brother: Harvey Joe Sanders of Hartwell; two sisters: Faye Buchanan of Hartwell and Libby Andrews of Dewy Rose, GA; four grandchildren: Brandon Sanders, Dale Sanders, Kelly Dye, Amanda Findley; and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Steve M. Sanders; three brothers: Broughton Sanders, Howard Sanders, Willie Owen Sanders; and one grandchild: Chad S. Sanders.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Forrest Ferguson officiating.Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the service.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made Cornerstone Baptist Church Solid Rocks, 1543 Anderson Hwy., Hartwell, GA 30643.
