Mr. Frank Robert Mayer Thompson, age 53, of McGee Road, Canon, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home following an extended illness.
Born October 17, 1964 in Red Bank, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert and Pauline (Mayer) Thompson. He was blessed to move to Franklin County in December of 1976, where he graduated from Franklin County High School. He was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his friends and family. Frank was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter: Jillian Savage; brother: Gary Thompson; sisters: Marilyn Thompson and Christy Oliver, & husband Bill; and many friends.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. John Forbes and Rev. Chris Page officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve of pallbearers: Tom Collins, Tim Floyd, Ricky Whitsel, Ken Ford, Phillip Smith, Eric Jointer, and Bill Haggard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
