Mr. Fred H. Edinger, age 91, of Lavonia, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his home.
Born March 20, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley L. and Mary Miller Edinger. He was a member of Providence Methodist Church. Mr. Edinger was a member of the VFW and the Lavonia Arts Guild and he was a US Army veteran having served during WWII in Pearl Harbor, he retired from the National Guard having served 28 years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife: Hazel Ogle Edinger; brothers: John, Stanley, and Warren Edinger and 1 great grandchild: Taylor Brooks.
He is survived by his daughters: Lynda Edinger of Lavonia, Tommie Murphy of Alpharetta, and Judy Morrison of Rex; sister: Betty Clark of Bath, PA; brother: Ken Edinger of Washington DC; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro at 3:00 pm.
