Freddie Wayne Segars, Sr.

Mr. Freddie Wayne Segars, Sr, 70, of Hartwell, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Born on May 23, 1956, in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Billy Edward Segars and Mildred White Segars, and stepfather Charles Whitaker. Mr. Segars was a mechanic for Hartwell Chevron, and a bookkeeper & auctioneer for the Nails Creek Auction. Freddie was of the Baptist faith, and loved being outdoors especially when he was hunting & fishing.

Survivors include his wife: Marie Brooks Segars of the home; three sons: Freddie Segars Jr. (Candi), Charlie Segars (Kayla), and Walker Crowe (Bailey Grace), all of Hartwell; daughter: Amanda Crowe of Hartwell; two brothers: Mike & Mark Segars; one sister: Linda Dickerson; and eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Segars is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Billy Glenn Segars; and sister: Debbie Beard.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Services for Mr. Freddie Segars will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Randall Starrett officiating. Mr. Segars will be cremated following the service.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1279 Royston Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
