Obituary

Mr. Freddie Lamar Young, 60 of 175 Sharon Church Rd, Hartwell, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson SC.

Born on November 14, 1949 in Turner Co. GA, he was the son of the late Newton Gresham Young and the late Willie Mae Wright Young.He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and a US Army, Vietnam war veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Weaver Young; Sons, Jerry Young and his wife Heather of Anderson SC, Chris Campbell and his wife Kim of Hartwell, Fred Morris and his wife April of Indianapolis IN. Daughter LaWanda McCormick of Fort Wayne IN. One brother, Arvin Young of Waynesville, IN. Six sisters, Barbara Jones of Alma, GA. Joyce Stephens of Jesup, GA. Carolyn McDowell, Mary Ward, Gail Warner, and Wilma Bagley all of Waynesville GA. Eight grandchildren, Brynleigh Young, Samantha Campbell, Nicholas Pfrogner, Joanna and Jordan Brown, Leorah Morris, Kim and Jordan McCormick also survives.He was preceded in death by his parents, two bothers, Horace and Henry Young and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Sammy and Georgia Weaver.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Donald Little officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson SC. 29621
