Frederick Kimsey "Fred" Dilbeck, age 83, of Carnesville, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at his home.
Born May 21, 1941, in Ducktown, TN, He was the son of the late Hayden and Dessie (Stroud) Dilbeck. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Artillery & Missiles Division at Fort Seal, OK. Before retirement he worked with the United States Department of Agriculture and NSCS Broad River. Mr. Dilbeck was a member of the Martin Lions Club. He loved his family, church family and work family.
He is survived by his children: Tanya Dilbeck Fountain, Frederick "Freddy" Dilbeck, II, Ashley Dilbeck Partington; daughter-in-law: Amanda Dilbeck; grandchildren: Dawn Fountain, Dustin Fountain, Hayden Dilbeck, Matthew Dilbeck, Ryan Dilbeck; great grandchildren: Brooke Fountain, Shyanne Holtzclaw, Addy Dilbeck, Baylor Dilbeck; brother: E. C. Dilbeck; one he called his daughter: Jeanette Bryson Parson; special friends: Pat & William Varner, Eva Meeks, Bobby Irvin, and Betty Hulsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother: Sederick Dilbeck; sisters: Jean Dilbeck, Opal Dilbeck, Jody Dilbeck, Arlene Dilbeck, Marlene Dilbeck; and special friend: Ernestine Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at Lavonia First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Chitwood and Rev. Forest Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Lavonia City-Burgess Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home.
Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia is in charge of the arrangements.
