Obituary
Helen Gail (Blackwell) Whitfield, age 67, of Adams Street, Lavonia, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born July 2, 1952, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claudie Lee Blackwell and Dorthy (Dutton) Blackwell King. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lavonia Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother: Chester Blackwell; and sisters: Anniebell Aldrich, Jo Durham, Carolyn Compton, and Eddie Nell Smith.
She is survived by her sons: Claude Hambrick and Rusty Hambrick; daughters Diana Hambrick and Gidget Knight; brothers: Thurman Blackwell, Leonard Ray Blackwell, and Herman Blackwell; sister: Sue Tiller grandchildren: Katie Hambrick, Johnny Hambrick, Daniel Hambrick, DeShania Pless, Sabrina Crunkleton, Lee McCollum, David Knight, Peyton Knight, and Sabrina Dove Smith; and great-grandchildren: Abigail Webb, Ethan Smith, and Daryl Chase Hambrick.
Ms. Whitfield will be cremated and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
