Mr. Gary Lamar Donald Sr, 77, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at AnMed Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on February 12, 1946 in Fair Play, SC, Mr. Donald was the son of the late Robert Donald and Cecil Brady Donald.  Gary was a retired maintenance tech with Owens Corning and a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and played the guitar.  He also was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and Yaarab Shrine.  Gary loved to fish.

Survivors include his wife: Ruby Jones Donald; three sons: Lamar Donald of Hartwell, David Donald (Riena) of Elberton, Dwayne Donald (Jennifer) of Hartwell; one brother: Lloyd Donald of Pendleton SC; one sister Ann Alewine of Minnesota; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, November 24, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Abundant Life Baptist Church. The family will be at the home.

A celebration of life for Mr. Gary Donald will be Friday, November 24, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Abundant Life Baptist Church with Masonic Rites following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abundant Life Baptist Church, PO Box 237, Hartwell, GA 30643.
