Mr. Gary Ellison Dunn, 75, of Hartwell passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on October 5, 1946 in Royston, GA, he was the son of Imogene Sanders Dunn and the late Stewart B. Dunn. Gary was the owner of Hartwell Metalcraft Machine Shop and he retired in 2008. He was a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his mother: Imogene Sanders Dunn of Hartwell; wife: Peggy Rice Dunn of Hartwell; two daughters: Renee' Simchon (Sam) and Sandra Wooten (York) all of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Michael Hinson, Ryan Hinson, Samantha Simchon, David Simchon, and Slate Wooten; one great grandson: Jace Hinson and one sister: Beth Maret (Jimmy) of Hartwell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Ellison Dunn will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Eric Boyd officiating.Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors

Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Reed Creek Baptist Church, 116 Boleman Hill Rd, Hartwell, GA 30643.
