Obituary
Mrs. Gaynelle Rice Lawrence, 64, of 507 Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell, died Saturday, March 14 at Hart County Hospital.
Born in Slater SC, she was the daughter of Ruth Buchanan Rice of Hartwell and the late William Dorsey Rice.She was co-owner of Hartwell Florist and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother; husband, Charles W. Lawrence of the home; a daughter, Traci L. Mason and her husband Quentin of Royston; two sons, Tony Lawrence and his wife Cindy of Hartwell and Todd Lawrence and his wife Paige of Peachtree City; a sister, Barbara O'Kelley of Danielsville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.She was preceded death by her father and a brother, Billy Rice.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.Mrs. Lawrence wished to be cremated after her service.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home of Tony & Cindy Lawrence, 134 Walnut Dr., Hartwell.Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA30643 or to the Loran Smith Cancer Center, 240 Talmadge Dr, Athens GA30606.
