Mr. Clayte Eugene "Gene" Teasley, 78, of 74 Williams Street, Hartwell, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home.

Born on February 14, 1932 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Clayte C. Teasley and Edith Kay Teasley.He was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, and worked as a weave room supervisor at the Milliken/ Newton Plant for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth B. Teasley; one son: Mike Teasley and his wife, Sharon of Hartwell; one daughter: Sherry Vickery and her husband, Mike of Hartwell; two brothers: John W. "Bill" Teasley of Lawrenceville, and Jerry D. Teasley of Hartwell; one sister: Lucy Jordan of Eastanollee; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Teasley was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Douglas Teasley; three brothers: Verlyn Teasley, Chandler Teasley, and Larry Teasley; and one sister: Rebecca Haywood.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black officiating. Burial will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home.
