Mr. Eugene Vickery, age 74, of 109 Savannah St. Ext, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, December 25 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson.


Born July 16, 1934 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Ira C. Vickery and Lillie Adams Vickery.He was retired from Dunlop.He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, C. Raymond Wilson Sunday School Class, the Church Choir and was a former Deacon. He was also a member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690.

His survivors include:Wife, Jean Cordell Vickery of the home; Daughter, Lynn Vickery Everett and her husband Mike of Suwanee, GA; Grandchild, Andrew Everett; Brothers, Ralph Vickery, Ronald Vickery and Donald Vickery all of Hartwell, GA; Sisters, Betty V. Crump of Hartwell, GA, Inez V. Rice of Elberton, GA, Carol V. Moon of Hartwell, GA, Amanda V. Cantrell of Blairsville, GA and Joyce V. Dickerson of Hartwell, GA. He is preceded in death by Parents; Sisters, Louise V. Donaldson, Sara V. Spears, Dot V. Smith and Eleanor V. Sanders; and a brother, Jerry Vickery.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. John Silver and Rev. Carter Tucker will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.
