Obituary
Mrs. Geneva Cantrell, 85, of 3589 Liberty Hill Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her home.
Born on December 13, 1925 in Lavonia, GA, she was the daughter of the late Will Cobb and Dahlia Lewis Cobb.She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and adult Sunday school class.She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Gideon's International.
Survivors include one son: Arthur Cantrell of Hartwell; one daughter, Dr. Barbara C. Ray of Spartanburg, SC; Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Cantrell; one daughter, Brenda Owens; three brothers: Cornelius Cobb, Randolph Cobb, and Eugene Cobb; four sisters: Vera Hobbs, Irene Bratcher, Hastine Dove and Floy Floyd.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday.The family is at home of Arthur and Lynn Cantrell.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, GA30643.
