Obituary

Mr. George Curtis Craft, age 61, of Lavonia, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at his home.
Born May 11, 1948, in Bainbridge, GA.He was a veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an expert woodsman and worked in construction. Mr. Craft was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Patricia Broome; and a sister: Von McDowell.
He is survived by his wife: Nona Holcombe Craft; son: Robert Dove of Lavonia; daughters: Janice Lee and Mary Nimmons of Seneca, SC, Sue Stone and Sandy Stone of Lavonia; brothers: Barcill Craft of AL, Larry Craft and David Craft of KS, & Buddy Craft of Brunswick; sister: Judy Craft of AL; 28 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Victory Baptist Church with Revs. Ron Certain and Charlie Rausch officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday May 26, 2009 in Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, SC with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
