Mr. George Emmett Moore, 82, of 3166 Bowman Hwy., Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at his residence.

Born April 23, 1926 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Tom Martin Moore and Bertie Estelle Hendrix Moore.He was retired Owner of Moore Construction Company.He was a member of Milltown Baptist Church, Men's Sunday School Class and a Deacon.He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served in WWII and Pacific Theater.

His survivors include:Wife, Mattie Lou Herring Moore of the home; Son, Ronald Moore and his wife Angie of Hartwell, GA; Daughter, Patsy Brazell and her husband Larry of Ellijay, GA; sister, Claudine Marchinke, Winter Garden, FL, brothers, Thomas Moore, Royston, Ga., and Douglas Moore, Hartwell, Ga. Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.He is preceded in death by his parents a granddaughter, Buffy Brazell, sisters, Lillian Blackmon, Willie Maude Vickery, Eva Mae Adams, Alma Jean Wilson, Janie Ruth Moore and Elizabeth Fleming and by brothers, Guy, T.M., Joe and Stewart Moore.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Ray Black and Rev. Ken Brewer will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Friday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Milltown Baptist Church, 609 Milford Road, Hartwell, GA30643.
