Mr. George Larry Porter, 58, of 2365A Hwy 17, Eastanollee, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at his home.
Born June 12, 1948, in Hall County, GA, he was the son on Rex B. Porter and Annie B. Moss Porter, He was employed as a carpet installer and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Myrtle Harris Porter; sons: Randall Reese of Cumming, Jeffery Harris of Carnesville, and Tim Harris of Eastanollee; daughters: Christi Deese of Woodstock, and Angelia Ellenburg of Seneca, SC; brothers: Rex O. Porter of Lionsville, AL, Donald D. Porter of Dawsonville, Jackie R. Porter of Acworth; and sister Judy Burt of Cumming; and eight grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Joseph R. Porter, Ralph B. Porter, and Carroll W. Porter; and sister: Jo Ann Porter.
Mr. Porters wishes were to be cremated. There is no memorial service planned at this time.The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home Lavonia Chapel.Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to help defray funeral expenses.The family is at the home.
