Mr. George Albert Segers, 92, of Hickory Crossing Road, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on April 16, 1923 in Hartwell GA, Mr. Segers was the son of the late John Segers and Amanda Lawrence Segers.Mr. Segers was a farmer, helped his son, Johnny at Johnny's Small Engines and was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his two sons: Johnny Segers and his wife Carol and Bobby Segars all of Hartwell; a daughter: Ann Hendrix and her husband Mack of Elberton; six grandchildren: David Hendrix and his wife Christy, Chris Segers and his wife Andrea, Leann Osborne, George Segars II, Samantha Segars and Bobbie Jean Segars also survive. Mr. Segers was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Christine Lee Segers and a granddaughter: Joy Ann Segars and was the last surviving member of his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bearden and Rev. James Sexton officiating.Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.The family is at the home of Johnny and Carol Segers, 55 John Gaines Road, Hartwell.
