Mr. George Alton Standridge, age 68, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022.

He was born December 20, 1953, in Franklin County, son of Eula Medlin Standridge and the late Alton Standridge. He retired from the Hartwell Company as a foreman. In retirement, he owned and operated a welding business. Mr. Standridge loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed camping with his family, and was an avid card player. He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, the Shriners, and the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Bonnie White Standridge; daughters: Cherri (James) Cox, Christy (Bobby) Kirk, Carolyn (James) Brooks, and Cathy Standridge; brother: Robert "Bo" (JoAnne) Standridge; sister: Shirley Standridge (Ricky); uncle: Fred Medlin; grandchildren: Heather (John) Sides, Brandon George Alton (Paige) Carey, Katie Brooks, Mason Carey, and Preston (Alisha) Kirk; and great-grandchildren: Jeron Sides, Braylynn Sides, Kaden Sides, Bradley Kirk, Ansliegh Kirk, and Camriegh Kirk.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the service.
