Mrs. Georgie Mize Moorhead, 98, of Old Hendrys Church Road, Canon, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Brown Health & Rehab.

Born on January 13, 1920 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late George Mize and Florie Jenkins Mize.She was a retired seamstress for the Hartwell Garment Company and also retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company.Mrs. Moorhead was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Joan Williford and her husband Ray of Royston; Two sisters: Blanche Dickerson of Bethlehem GA and Carol Hilley of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Greg Williford and his wife Stephanie, Brian Williford and Brent Williford and his wife Sonja; six great-grandchildren: Kiersten Williford Ergen and her husband Tom, Mitchell Williford, Austin Williford, Tabitha Williford, Keegan Williford and Landon Williford.Mrs. Moorhead was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Herbert Moorhead; two sisters: Drucilla Anderson and Catherine Mewborn and five brothers: E.P. Mize, Warren Mize, Phil Mize, Joe Mize and Tom Mize.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
