Mr. Gerald Alfred Brown, 72, of 165 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.

Born November 19, 1935 in Elbert County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Luther Q. Brown and Ruby Crawford Brown Sayer.He was the former owner/operator of Brown Plumbing and Electric for 21 years.He retired from Whitworth Detention Center with 10 years of service.He was a former Deacon at New Prospect Baptist Church.He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, McDoyle Sunday School Class, Forever Young Group, Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, Past Worshipful Master, former member of Lake Hartwell Bass Club, Former member and Past President of Lake Hartwell Shrine Club and former founding member of Hartwell Optimist Club, and a former resident of Yonah Mountain Camping Resort and retired from U.S. Army Reserve and the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Tucker Brown of the home; Daughter, Joylynn Wilson and her husband Danny of Hartwell, GA; Sons, Greg A. Brown and his wife Robin of Hartwell, GA and David L. Brown and his wife Angie of Hartwell, GA; Brother, T. Linder Brown of Hartwell, GA; Six grandchildren, Gretchen Brown, Tucker Brown, Deanna Wilson Sanders, Jeremy Brown, Joshua Brown and Madison Joy Brown.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Twin Brother, Joel O. Brown and a grandchild, Jennifer Lynn Wilson.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church..Rev. Joe Black and Mrs. Deanna Wilson Sanders will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
