Mrs. Geraldine Chitwood Austin, 90, of Allen Acres, Hartwell, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on October 5, 1923 in Lavonia, GA, she was the daughter of the late Arvin L. Chitwood and Lula Watkins Chitwood.She was retired from Bellcraft Manufacturing as a seamstress and was a long time member of Mt. Olivet Church of God and attended Price Chapel Church of God.

Survivors include three daughters: Marcella J. Brown of Anderson, Regina J. Alexander of Hartwell and Dannis J. Cox and her husband Tom of Anderson; two grandchildren: Neil Alexander and Meredith McClure; five great grandchildren: Amelia Alexander, Daniel Alexander, Makala Alexander, Corbett McClure and Madeline McClure, Kimberly Allen; two brothers: Shelton A. Chitwood and Lonnie Chandler Chitwood both of Hartwell; one sister: Eugenia LeCoq of Royston. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Daniel M. Jordan, her second husband: William "Bill" Austin, Sr.; one niece who was raised in the home: Teresa Ann Chitwood Highland;two brothers: Frank Chitwood and Virgil Chitwood; four sisters: Rolvie McCollum, Willie Brown, Ruth Chitwood and Pauline Chitwood.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Church of God, with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Wesley Allen officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Olivet Church of God.The family is at their respective homes.
