Mrs. Frances Geraldine (Buffington) Isbell, age 82, of Lavonia, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
Born March 13, 1929 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Robert Buffington and Myrtie (Vickery) Buffington. She was part-owner and manager of the Owl's Nest for many years. Mrs. Isbell was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Hubert Isbell; sister: Launa Isbell; and brothers: Alton Buffington and Robert Buffington, Jr.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Peggy & Travis Moon of Lavonia and Debbie & Pete Gallo of Suwannee; sister and brother-in-law: Patricia and Tommy Cole of Lavonia; grandchildren: Chris Moon of Lavonia and Charity Henry of Lavonia; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
