Mr. Gladston Everett Moorhead, age 82, of 845 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon, GA, died Monday, August 6, 2007 at his home.

Born December 18, 1924 in Hart County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Bert Moorhead and Rema Johnson Moorhead. He retired after 30 years from Monroe Auto Equipment Company as an Electrical Engineer.He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church; Adult Men's Sunday School Class, a former Teacher and Deacon and served on various church committees.He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.

His survivors include:Wife, Hazel Schultz Moorhead of the home; Son, W. Lynn Moorhead of Canon, GA; Daughter, Beth M. Mewborn and husband, Richard of Naperville, IL; Three grandchildren, Carla Mewborn, Andrew Mewborn and Taylor Mewborn.He is preceded in death by Parents; Brothers, Herbert Moorhead and Ranny Moorhead; Sisters, Lyda Freeman and Martha Norman.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Richard Bielski will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Dr. Gordon Robinson officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 1500 Oglethorpe Avenue, Suite 200 C, Athens, GA30606.
