Gladys Woody
Mrs. Gladys Cape Woody, 96, of 1544 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.
Born in Lavonia, GA on August 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Mason Cape and Blanche Reese Cape.She was retired from Springs Industries where she worked in the spinning room.Mrs. Woody was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Temple Parton of Hartwell and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Woody; two sisters: Jewel Geneva Cape and Mabel Mosley; six brothers: Oscar Cape, Arthur Cape, Garnett Cape, Ray Cape, M.I. Cape, and Haskel Cape.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.Burial will be in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.The family is at the home of Mary Parton, 24 Powderbag Road, Hartwell, GA30643.
