Mr. Glen Anderson Herring, 80, of 178 Gloria Drive, Hartwell, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson SC.

Born in Hartwell, Hart County GA on February 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Joel Anderson Herring and Marie Edwards Herring.Mr. Herring was a retired self-employed Brick Mason and was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. He was a U S Army Korean War veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Rowland Herring of the home; one daughter, Kim H. Cantrell and her husband Tim of Cumming GA; two sisters, Barbara Whaley and her husband Gordon of Grayson GA; Lattie Atkins and her husband James of Hartwell, two grandchildren, Morgan C. Waters and her husband Zach and Nick Cantrell all of Cumming GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jeffery Glen Herring and one sister Faye Baker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Milltown Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones and Rev. Ray Black officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell and will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, where the family will be receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
