Mrs. Glenda Contway Hicks, age 87 of 377 Orchard Road, Canon, Ga., and formerly of Hartwell, Ga., died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Gables in Royston, Ga.

Born April 6, 1920 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Morgan Contway and Georgia Ann Stapp Contway. She was a housewife and a member Nancy Hart Chapter order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by: daughter, Denise H. Kern, Canon, Ga., and son, John Trent Hicks, Cary, N.C., a brother, Marvin Contway of Oklahoma and sister Lynn Norberg of Cary, N.C. Grandchildren, Wendy Lynn Hicks and Carey Jennifer Hicks also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, John B. Hicks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hicks will be held Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with burial to be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. The family will be at their respective homes.
