Mr. Glenn Marion Ayers, 82, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.
Born March 18, 1936, in Homer, he was the son of the late Era and Mamie (White) Ayers. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ayers was a good man who loved his family.
He is survived by his wife: Donna Lynn (McCree) Ayers; children: Gregory Ayers of Lavonia, Wanda Ayers of Concord, Jeff Ayers of Griffin, Preston Ayers of Lavonia, Kathy Lynn of Martin and Randy Ayers of Madison County; siblings: James Ayers and Barbara Ann Hillman; and 15 grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings: Gloyd Ayers and Mary Ayers.
Mr. Ayers' request was to be cremated and the family will hold a time of remembrance at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be given to the family to assist with expenses.
