Mrs. Gloria Senkbeil Whiten, 74, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens.

Born on November 2, 1947 in Anderson SC, she was the daughter of the late Julian Benson Senkbeil and Lucille McMullan Senkbeil.Mrs. Whiten held degrees from the University of Georgia.She was an educator for 32 years, having taught high school math in various Northeast Georgia counties.She retired from the Madison County School System as an assistant principal at Danielsville Elementary.

Left to cherish her memories are spouse of 54 years, John F. Whiten Jr.; daughter, Deanna McEwen and her husband Brent of Watkinsville; and two granddaughters, Victoria McEwen and Alexandria McEwen.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Whiten will be cremated. There will be a private family memorial service held at a later date.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
