Gordon Anthony
Mr. John Gordon Anthony, age 73, of Stockbridge, GA died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Rockdale Medical Center.
Born April 17, 1938, in Lavonia, he was the son of the late Martin Chandler Anthony and Sadie Carnes Anthony Peeples. Mr. Anthony was a member and past president of Alford Memorial Ham Radio Club, Stone Mountain, GA and was a great lover of sports, especially dirt track racing at Dixie and Rome Speedways. Prior to retirement, he was a wrecker driver with A & A Auto Carrier.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: William and June Anthony of Stockbridge; and sister and brother-in-law: Elizabeth & Don Anthony of Lavonia, and sister: Patsy Williams of Hartwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife: Norma Geisler Anthony.

Graveside services were held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Brown officiating.




Norma Anthony
Mrs. Norma Geisler Anthony, 74, daughter of the late Roy Franklin and Carrie Bickel Geisler, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Golden Living Center.
Mrs. Anthony, a former resident of Atlanta, moved to the area in 1985 and was of the Baptist faith. She had worked for Ryder Truck Rental Company at the district office and also with United Way.
She was survived by her former husband and best friend: John Gordon Anthony. Other survivors include two brothers, William R. Geisler and his wife Ann of North Augusta, SC and James O. Geisler and his wife Susan of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her favorite niece, Patricia Ann Geisler Cassell.
A memorial service was held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Schlachter officiating.Rowland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.rowlandfuneralhome.com.
