Mrs. Grace Kelley Gorman, age 95, formerly of Lavonia, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Hart County Hospital.
Born June 9, 1915, in Salem, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Pickens Kelley and Nora Essie (Sheriff) Kelley. She was a homemaker, who cared greatly for her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Clyde Gorman; daughter: Susan Elaine Gorman; and a great-grandson: Kenneth James Franklin.
She is survived by her sons: J.C. Gorman of Jonesboro, Larry Gorman of Lavonia, & Jerry Gorman of Carnesville; daughters: Clydean Brewer of Toccoa, Shirley Dabbs of Franklin, Nancy Franklin of Carnesville, Linda Keller of Carnesville, & Brenda Evans of Hartwell; sister: Edith Durham of Pendleton, SC; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Derrick Woody officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
