Mrs. Grace Caudell Payne, 89, of Airline School Road, Bowersville, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Landmark Hospital, Athens GA.

Born on April 10, 1926 in Danielsville GA, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. Caudell and Martha Jane Caudell.She was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Elton Payne Sr. of Bowersville; a sister: Paschal Horne of Rock Hill SC; five grandchildren: Jody DiMarco, Kelsey DiMarco, Sherri Payne Wright, Misti Payne Ward and Elton Payne Jr.; ten great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Fred D. Payne; a daughter: Martha Jo Payne DiMarco; a son: Alton E. Payne; four brothers: Erastus, Gurtell, Junior and Hascal Caudell and four sisters: Thelma Bell, Adell Phillips, Lucy Fortson and Margie Phillips.

Funeral services will Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. John Mitchell officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening. The family is at the home.
