Mrs. Grace Bell Wood Wingard, 87, of Lanier Street, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living Center, Anderson.

Born on September 14, 1928, in Commerce, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ancel Wood and Cora Bowen Wood.Mrs. Wingard was a home maker and a business woman and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and of the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her son: David A. Wingard and his wife Donna of Easley, SC; three grandchildren: Lane Murray, Leah Paine and Lewis, Andrea Freeland and Bruce; four great-grandchildren: Savannah Murray, Hayden Murray, Madelyn Paine, Evan Paine; and one brother: Calvin Wood of Ellenwood, GA.Mrs. Wingard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles Andrew Wingard; one daughter Cindy Kelley; and two sisters: Pauline Whitehead and Lilly Waldrop.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 11, 2015, 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. John Silver officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church Capital Fund, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.
