Grady Edward "Bubba" Lowe, age 68, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born November 27, 1952, in Montgomery, AL, he was the son of Lois Irene (Putnam) Lowe and the late James Edward Lowe. After graduating high school, joined the United States Marine Corp., where he proudly served from 1970 to 1979. He attended Marietta Technical College and retired from AT&T as a cable repairman. Mr. Lowe was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion Post 145 in Douglasville. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Auburn Tigers and the Atlanta Falcons. He loved the lake life, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his friends. However, his greatest love was his family.
In addition to his mother, Lois, he is survived by his wife: Margaret "Marg" (Patrick) Lowe; daughter: Angie Taylor; sister: Elicia Lowe McClure; grandchildren: Brittney & Trent Timmins, Kaitlyn Gipson, and Holly Gipson; and great-grandchildren: McKinley, Sawyer, Raegan, and Reece Timmins.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553.
